Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey, Indeed.

So, we all know the Ponds are leaving Doctor Who in what will be the fifth episode of season 7. And while, of course, no one knows the exact story of what leads up to their departure, but with the production using extensive location shooting, and a few spies along the way, it seems we can speculate as how 1930's New York, The Weeping Angels, and River Song all add up to Amy and Rory's swan song.

There is some speculation that the Ponds are potentially splitting up and scenes where "divorce" papers are being served were filmed in Wales. Whether this is part of episode one, that features the return of the Daleks, and is the catalyst for the Doctor to make sure they don't split-up by traveling with him again is unknown. Still, this could be the reason the crew of the TARDIS arrive in New York sometime -possibly- in the future (Amy is seen reading a paper that says the Detriot Lions win the Superbowl). While apparently having a picnic, Rory wanders off to get something - coffee as some have heard- and encounters a Weeping Angel (who we all know they can detect residual energy of time travelers) and is sent back in time, the 1930s as that time frame supports the cars used in some scenes.

Meanwhile, the Doctor and Amy are awaiting Rory's return. While we see Amy reading the paper, the Doctor is reading a book by "Melody Malone" -the name River used before while growing up with Rory and Amy. The Doctor apparently realizes the book is written by Rory, and published in the 1930s. Realizing what has happened, some how the Doctor and Amy discover Rory as an old man in New York. After a brief reunion, Rory dies.

So, here's where things get muddled. At first, it seems that since they know where Rory will end up, they try to bring the TARDIS to the 1930s, only that would create a paradox (speculation is this is what causes some outside damage to the TARDIS, as scenes recently filmed back in Wales show the time machine with "scorch" marks on it), because the TARDIS will try to avoid time paradoxes (remember when Captain Jack attached himself to the outside of the time machine in the opening segment of Utopia?). This also where they pick-up River Song and where, probably, Amy then decides to find the Weeping Angel that sent Rory back in time, supporting the idea from Blink, that each Weeping Angel's touch is different (Billy in that episode encountered the same Weeping Angel that sent the Doctor and Martha back to 1969).

I would guess that it's River Song who enables the TARDIS to arrive in 1930s New York to where Amy and Rory will have their reunion and stay in 1930s New York.

But if this happens, I think that it creates tons of paradoxes.
